Special Interest Group: Automation

The automation special interest group constitutes a “software network of excellence” for companies active in automation. In particular, the special interest group considers itself to be the first point of contact for software issues encountered by the initiative “Automation Valley Nordbayern”. The group promotes topics such as software development and software use in the field of automation, while performing evaluations and supporting the transfer of knowledge.

By offering lectures, joint projects, and discussion forums, the automation special interest group addresses issues encountered in people’s working environments (real-time demand), professional training (programming), and future technologies (real-time Ethernet). Specifically, those matters are focused on that are of particular relevance in the field of automation, such as software quality, reliability, ergonomics, efficiency, maintainability and maintenance, process quality, technology and market developments. Participant surveys establish the demand for any given subject and the appropriate speakers are then sought.
